I help large industrial software organizations improving their software engineering competences for optimal business value. My particular areas of expertise are requirements management, agile development, and product lines.
I am founder and principal consultant of Software.Process.Management. From 2001 to 2007, I was a managing consultant and project lead at sd&m AG/Capgemini. Until 2001 at Fraunhofer IESE and Technical University of Kaiserslautern, I contributed to and managed international consortium projects that developed and introduced advanced software engineering technology into large enterprises.
I have often been able to compare software organizations from different companies, countries, and business domains. That gave me a broad and deep understanding of industrial software engineering practice. My consulting engagements from the past 20 years include companies such as Intel, Daimler, Siemens, Robert Bosch, Ericsson, Dräger Medical Electronics, Schlumberger, and AXA.
I hold a diploma (Dipl.-Inform.) in software engineering and economics, and a PhD in software engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. I am a member of ACM, IEEE CS, ASQF, and GI.
